As a growing team, there’s always plenty going on at the TFP offices! The last few weeks have been no exception, so here’s everything you need to know.
Connor joins the TFP team
We’re delighted to welcome a new addition to the TFP team this month. Connor Griffiths has joined our technical team as a Technical Administrator and will support our planners in delivering real financial planning to our clients.
Connor was so thrilled to be joining the business, he began studying for his RO1 exam before he joined us!
Connor says: “As an aspiring Financial Planner, I wanted to join a firm with a vision at the core of their being; I didn’t want to just be going through the motions, I wanted to make a tangible difference to real people.
“At the core of TFP is the belief that real financial planning changes lives, so it’s the perfect fit for me. I believe TFP is somewhere I can develop as a professional and, albeit in time, become the best Financial Planner I can be. This will enable me to serve the fundamental vision at the centre of TFP and change lives.
“I am really happy to be on board and although career changes can be daunting, the team have made me feel really welcome.”
Wedding bells at TFP as Olivia ties the knot
As well as welcoming Connor to the team, we also celebrated another Connor joining the TFP family this month.
Olivia, our Technical Manager, married Connor three weeks ago at LADS Tractor Shed in Latchingdon. The wedding had a chilled, laid-back vibe and guests could enjoy the day and the hospitality among the hay bales of this pretty outdoor venue.
The happy couple were rewarded with a beautiful sunny day and were joined by close friends and family including our very own Lucy who acted as Maid of Honour.
Many congratulations to the couple, and we wish them many happy years together.
Lucy celebrates five years at TFP
There’s a milestone for our Office Manager this week as Lucy celebrates five years at TFP.
Lucy joined us in 2014 and, since then, she has ensured the smooth running of the office and improved our internal procedures. She’s also responsible for several other aspects of the business, including compliance, HR, marketing and business development.
Since starting at TFP five years ago, Lucy has achieved the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Award in Financial Administration and she is currently working towards becoming a Business Manager and achieving BS8577 for the business, which is the British Standard for financial planning and advice firms.
Thanks for your hard work Lucy, and happy work anniversary!
A round-up of everything else that’s going on at TFP
One of the concerns of many retirees is that they will exhaust their retirement savings during their retirement. Indeed, a SunLife survey found that the biggest concern of almost half of retirees was that they would run out of money.
These worries can result in people experiencing a fear of spending. In the latest Voyant blog, our own Dan Haylett tackles this issue, and explains why he enjoys encouraging some of his clients to actually spend more money! It’s a great read, and you can find it here.
Talking of Dan: he’s been busy this year increasing his knowledge base and his financial services qualification. In 2019 so far, he has passed:
- CF6 – Mortgages
- ER1 – Equity Release
- J10 – Discretionary Investment Management
All these qualifications increase the high standard of advice Dan can offer to clients. Congratulations to him on his exam success.
Dan’s not the only TFP team member to add an additional string to their bow! This year Olivia was also successful in passing her AF7 exam (regarding Pension Transfers), increasing the level of technical expertise she brings to the business. Congratulations, Olivia!
