Elaine MillsBusiness Administrator
Elaine at work
Elaine is currently covering Lucy on maternity leave and handling all aspects of business administration.
From her first role in finance as a Mortgage Adviser at Countrywide Assured, to an Independent Financial Adviser for Bradford & Bingley, then finally a self-employed adviser with Cheeseman & Groves and later PFS, Elaine has plenty of experience in helping clients to achieve their goals.
She was also previously part of the team here in 2011, when she worked as a Client Administrator.
Elaine at home
Elaine married Casey in 2005. They have two (very active) children, Zachary and Darcey, as well as a 13-year old Siberian Husky.
Living an active lifestyle is important to Elaine. Her personal highlights include tree trekking at Center Parcs, parasailing with her son, visiting the Grand Canyon, swimming with dolphins, flying a plane, flying in a helicopter and scuba diving!
Elaine completed the London Marathon in 2006 and a 2.4-mile Swim Serpentine event in 2018. She is aiming to complete the Prudential London-Surrey 100-mile bike ride in the future to earn her London Classics Medal. She also participates in Nuclear Blast mud obstacle races with her friends, husband and colleagues, and does numerous running events for charity (one time she could be found running around Colchester dressed as Wonder Woman!). Needless to say, she likes her medal rack!
When she’s not at work, you can find her running with friends, having personal training, at a spin class, lake swimming and working out at the gym. Elaine is also a volunteer helper (parent reader and Forest School helper) at her children’s school. The remainder of her time is spent ferrying the children to all their clubs and trying to spend quality time with her husband, children and dog.
Elaine in the spotlight
On an ideal weekend, you can find me:
Spending quality time with my family whilst trying to inspire them at the same time.
My favourite holiday destination is:
Summer - Princesa Yaiza, Lanzarote or Sani Beach, Greece. Winter - Meeting Father Christmas and Husky Mushing, Lapland.
My favourite song to play in the car is:
Currently Raised by Wolves or The Miracle by U2, but generally anything rocky (Queen too).
The first album I bought was:
Scarily, so long ago I can’t actually remember what it was!
If I could be any fictional character, I would be:
Either DC’s Wonder Woman or Marvel’s Captain America.
If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:
Coffee drinking, as well as putting up and taking down slacklines at record speed at Forest Schools.
When the dessert menu arrives, I'm looking for:
Anything looking remotely healthy with a bit of meringue in and not too much cream.
The three qualities that draw me to new people are:
A lively, interesting and outgoing personality, kind and caring, with a funny sense of humour.
My pet peeve is:
Someone promising to call me back and not doing so.
The best gift I've ever received is:
Casey’s surprise proposal to me.
The three people at my dream dinner party would be:
Elon Musk (founder of Tesla), Ant Middleton (SAS Who Dares Wins) and Amelia Earhart (the first woman to fly across the Atlantic).
The three small things that make my day better are:
Casey says coffee 1,2 and 3! I say my family and friends, working out and helping at the school.
